INDIANAPOLIS - Tribe outfielder Austin Meadows has been named Indians Player of the Week (May 25 - May 31) after an impressive showing at the plate.

Meadows hit the ball exceptionally well in games against Lehigh Valley and Rochester, batting .407 (11-for-27) with one home run, four RBI and six runs scored. His six runs scored added to his season total of 34, which is tied for fourth in the International League. He has scored at least one run in 16 of his last 18 contests.

The 22-year-old has improved tremendously since his slow start to the season. After hitting .195 (16-for-82) in April, Meadows hit .300 (33-for-110) in May, improving his season average to .255 (49-for-192).

Honorable Mention: Right-hander Angel Sanchez was also in the running for Player of the Week. Sanchez made three appearances out of the bullpen for the Tribe and surrendered one run on three hits over six innings, while also striking out nine batters.
