LOUISVILLE, KY - The Bats saw their first sweep of the 2017 season Thursday night over the Gwinnett Braves, 3-2.

The Bats started the left-hander Ismael Guillon tonight against the Braves. Guillon pitched four innings, had three strikeouts, allowed two hits, three walks and a home run.

The Braves started lefty and former Kentucky Wildcat, Andrew Albers. Albers pitched six innings, with only three hits, no runs, and nine strikeouts.

The Bats and the Braves saw three straight scoreless innings before the Braves Mel Rojas Jr. hit a home run to left field and put the Braves on top first, 1-0. The Braves added another run in the top of the fifth from a Sean Kazmar single to right field, extending their lead to 2-0.

The top of the sixth inning saw Reds' rehab pitcher Tony Cingrani. The lefty pitched one scoreless/hitless inning and gave up one walk and had one strikeout.

The bottom of the eighth featured the Bats' comeback. Dilson Herrera singled on a line drive followed by a Zach Vincej double, putting runners on second and third. A Phillip Ervin ground-rule double would give the Bats their tying runs and make it two-all at the bottom of the eighth.

The Bats and the Braves would see 11 innings before a Sebastian Elizalde single would bring home Beau Amaral for the win, 3-2.

The Bats will take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs Friday in game one of a three game series. First pitch is set for 7:05 P.M.
