Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI-With the Peoria Rivermen's loss to the Manitoba Moose Saturday night, the Milwaukee Admirals have clinched a spot in the American Hockey League's Calder Cup Playoffs for the fifth consecutive year.

The Admirals are currently in third place in the AHL's West Division with 89 points and the most points that Peoria can now accumulate is 88. With four games to go in the season, it is unlikely that the Admirals will finish somewhere other than in third place. Iowa, currently in fourth place, would have to win all three of their remaining games and the Admirals would have to lose the rest of their for the Stars to finish ahead of them. The Ads could still tie Chicago for second place, but they would lose the tie-breaker of number of wins.

Thus, it looks as though the Admirals will play the second seeded team in the West, either Chicago or Omaha, in the best-of-seven West Division Semifinals. The Knights currently lead the Wolves by one point and they have a game in hand.

The defending Western Conference Champions, the Admirals have qualified for the playoffs in each year they have been in the AHL with the exception of their first, the 2001-02 campaign. The Ads captured the 2004 Calder Cup Title, the first professional crown in team history, with a sweep of the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins in the finals. Milwaukee's All-Time Calder Cup Playoff record stands at 35 wins and 21 losses, including an 8-3 mark in 11 playoff series.

Dates and times, as well as ticket information, will be made available at a future date.

The Admirals are back in action this Tuesday, April 10th at 7:00 pm at the Bradley Center when they host the Houston Aeros. For tickets fans can call Ticketmaster at (414) 276-4545 or log on to www.ticketmaster.com.
