November 5, 2009 - NBA G League (G League)
Idaho Stampede News Release
BOISE, Idaho (November 5, 2009) - Your Idaho Stampede utilized their first round pick (15th overall) in the 2009 NBA Development League Draft to select former University of Georgia Bulldog and rookie Sundaita Gaines.
The 6-1, 195 pound guard spent last season in Italy with NGC Cantu, after averaging 13.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. During his tenure with DePaul, Gaines played in 123 games, starting in every contest. In the second round, Idaho selected Dar Tucker from DePaul. Tucker was named to the Big East All-Freshman team and ranks 13th all-time in school history with 108 three pointers. During the 2008-09 season he led the team in scoring, averaging 18.5 points per game.
"I am very happy with our overall draft and having a chance to take Sundaita (Gaines) with our style of play is a natural fit," said Stampede Head Coach Bob MacKinnon. "I think with all of our picks we have depth at every position and will be able to play the way we want to, which has proved to be successful in the D-League."
Rounding out Idaho's remaining six picks was forward Delonte Holland (3rd rd., 46th overall), forward T.J. Cummings (4th rd., 49th overall), forward J.C. Mathis (5th rd., 78th overall), guard Mike Gamsey (6th rd., 81st overall), center Bryson McKenzie (7th rd., 110th overall), and guard Vince Oliver (8th rd., 113th overall).

Former Stampede center Jeff Graves is also invited to camp as an allocated player as well as training camp tryout players guard John Vaughan, forward Emmanuel Jones, and center Ray Schafer.
