Bismarck, N.D. (November 5, 2009) - The Dakota Wizards selected Curtis Withers, a 6-foot-8, 230-pound forward from UNC-Charlotte, with the eleventh overall selection in the 2009 NBA Development League Draft.

Withers was named First Team All-Atlantic 10 his senior year, First Team All-Conference USA his sophomore and junior seasons along with being a C-USA All-Freshman selection. He averaged 14.9 points and 8.9 rebounds in 117 games played in college. Withers has played in Turkey, France and Israel over the past three seasons.

The eight players selected by the Wizards will join training camp invitees Maurice Baker, Renaldo Major, Romel Beck, David Bell, Carlos English, Manny Quezada, Cameron Stanley and Derick Payne in Bismarck next weekend for the start of training camp on Sunday, Nov. 15. Coaches will submit an opening day roster of 10 players on Wednesday, Nov. 25 as the 2009-10 NBA D-League regular season tips off on Friday, Nov. 27 with six games.
