Niagara IceDogs News Release
The Niagara IceDogs held their annual Family Day Skate & Skills Competition this afternoon in front of over 1500 fans, which pitted Team Nedeljkovic vs. Team Dhillon. Fans took to the ice to skate with the IceDogs as the day opened up at the Meridian Centre. The IceDogs would then take part in several events throughout the day, including: a puck control relay, fastest skater, breakaway challenge, shooting accuracy, hardest shot, and an elimination shootout. The event would be closed out with a 3 on 3 game as well.
Highlight's of the event included Graham Knott's stellar display of shooting in the accuracy contest, and Blake Siebenaler flying around the ice like a speeding bullet in the fastest skater competition. However, Aleksandar Mikulovich may have stole the show today by recording the hardest shot, winning the breakaway challenge (with a Nick Pastorious impersonation), and outlasting his teammates in the elimination shootout.
In the end it would be Team Dhillon taking home the trophy this year with a 19-14 victory.
