ICE Run Streak to 10 with Win over Medicine Hat

Connor McClennon scored a pair of first period power play goals to lead the Winnipeg ICE to a 7-2 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers Saturday night at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena.

McClennon, with a WHL high 19 goals on the season, also chipped in with two assists.

Matthew Savoie had two assists and now leads the WHL with 38 points in 22 games.

Jakin Smallwood extended his personal goal scoring streak to five games with two goals, while singles came from James Form, Mikey Milne and Karter Prosofsky.

The win extended the ICE streak to 10 straight games and overall improved their record to 21-1.

Owen MacNeill and Cayden Glover were the lone Medicine Hat players to beat winning goaltender Gage Alexander who finished the night making 29 saves.

Garin Bjorklund made 35 of 42 saves for the Tigers who are now winless in their last 12 games (0-8-4).

The ICE continue a seven game homestand tomorrow afternoon (Sunday) at 5:00 against the Prince Albert Raiders.
