Last week's Games

Monday vs. Augusta (3-2 WIN)

Patrick Bordeleau scored two goals, Adam Hobson scored the game winner and Mike Brodeur made 41 saves as the Ice Pilots downed the Augusta Lynx 3-2 on Monday night at the Pensacola Civic Center. All five goals were scored in an 11 minute and 10 second span in the opening of the third period. Goaltenders stole the show in the first period as Mike Brodeur made 14 saves for the Ice Pilots and J.P. Levasseur stopped all 11 Ice Pilots shots as it was scoreless after the opening 20 minutes. Again in the second period, both goaltenders were on top of their game as Augusta pounded out 16 shots and the Ice Pilots put 9 pucks on net but Brodeur and Levasseur would not let any by. The red lights started to come on in the third as for the second straight game, the Ice Pilots lit the lamp first. Patrick Bordeleau knocked in a loose puck at 3:21 of the third to give Pensacola a 1-0 lead. Bryan Esner and Luke Erickson added assists on the goal. Augusta would answer quickly as they scored twice in a span of a minute and 23 seconds. Ryan Dingle registered his 10th goal of the year. Then it was Louis Goulet firing one past Brodeur for his 18th and all of a sudden, the Lynx led 2-1. Pensacola responded as Bordeleau beat Levasseur for his second of the night and eighth of the season to even the score at two. It was a power play goal from Adam Meyer and Peter Rouleau as Rouleau registered his first professional point. The game winner would go to Adam Hobson as he fired a one timer from the left wing circle at 11:10 of the third and with some sensational saves by Brodeur down the stretch; the Ice Pilots won their second in a row by a score of 3-2.

Tuesday vs. Augusta (1-0 OT Loss)

Adrian Veideman scored the only goal of the game with just 16.3 seconds left in overtime on the power play as the Augusta Lynx shut out the Ice Pilots 1-0 on Tuesday night at the Pensacola Civic Center. Eerily similar to last night, the two teams played another 40 minutes of scoreless hockey as it was Brodeur again for the Ice Pilots and Bobby Goepfert got the start for visiting Augusta. Instead though, this game would continue scoreless throughout the third period and head into overtime. The Ice Pilots had a late successful third period penalty kill, not allowing a shot to Augusta. In overtime, Augusta was given their fifth power play of the game and they were able to convert. Veideman fired a shot from the high slot past Brodeur and the Lynx took the 1-0 win. The Ice Pilots earn a point on the over time loss. Brodeur made 33 saves for Pensacola while Goepfert stopped all 28 Ice Pilots shots for the shut out. The two teams split the season series, each finishing with 3-2-1 records.

Sunday vs. Mississippi (2-1 WIN)

Mike Brodeur made 29 saves on his 25th birthday as the Ice Pilots defeated the Mississippi Sea Wolves 2-1 on Sunday in front of 3,274 at the Pensacola Civic Center. The teams played a scoreless 20 minutes to open up the contest but then it was the Ice Pilots power play getting the scoring going. Pensacola took advantage of a 5 on 3 power play as Adam Hobson tucked in a loose puck for his 10th goal of the season for a 1-0 Pilots lead. It was his sixth power play goal of the season. Brian Pouliot would add to the lead as he netted his first professional goal with a one-timer and the Ice Pilots led 2-0 after 40 minutes of play. Mississippi would attempt a third period comeback as Mark Hurtubise netted his 13th goal of the season to cut the lead to one, 2-1 Ice Pilots. Brodeur stopped 11 of 12 Mississippi shots in the third as the Ice Pilots held on for the 2-1 win.
