November 19, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release
PENSACOLA, FL - President Greg Schuh and Head Coach John Marks announced the Ice Pilots have signed forward Konstantin Kalmikov to an ECHL contract. Kalmikov brings nine years of pro experience to the Ice Pilots and some goal scoring help.
"The addition of Konstantin should be a boost to our offense. He has an excellent track record," said Marks. "I am looking forward to having him in the lineup and producing offensively."
The 6'4'', 220 pound native of Ukraine was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the third round of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. Kalmikov, 29, has played in 474 games throughout his professional career, including 241 in the AHL. He has registered 134 goals and 155 assists for a total of 289 points.
His most recent stop was last season in Italy where he played for Ritton. In 25 games, he scored 14 points (8G-6A). Over his career, he has played with St. John's, Hershey, Houston and Bridgeport in the AHL and spent parts of three seasons with the Louisiana IceGators in the ECHL.
