ICE Gets Past Regina

Seventeen-year-old Aiden Oiring scored the game's opening goal 3:49 into the first period, Owen Pederson and Ben Zloty struck in the second period and a goal by Connor McClennnon 44 seconds into the third period gave the Winnipeg ICE a 4-0 advantage as they cruised to a 5-2 victory over the Regina Pats Friday night.

McClennon's goal (pictured) was the 200th point in his WHL career.

Ty Nash added an empty netter with three seconds remaining as the ICE improved their record to 5-0.

Winnipeg goaltender Daniel Hauser was named the Nation West Insurance first star of the night making 21 saves, which included a penalty shot save on Pats forward Connor Bedard.

Jaxsin Vaughn and Bedard replied for Regina in the third period as their record drops to 3-4. Pats goaltender Matthew Kieper stopped 30 of 34 shots.

Both teams finished the night 0/4 on the power play.

Winnipeg returns to action Saturday night in Moose Jaw at 8:00 Central. Brian Munz and Kevin Olszewski will have the broadcast on CFRW 1290 AM starting with the Fort Garry Brewing Company pregame show at 7:30.
