Ice Dogs Sign Forward Robb Wismer

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced today that the West Coast Hockey League (WCHL) club has signed forward Robb Wismer to a one-year deal. As per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Wismer, 23 (will turn 24 on Aug. 22), spent three seasons (1999-2002) at Seneca College of the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA), amassing 31-50-81 totals with 30 penalty minutes in 41 total appearances. The 5-foot-10 Sherwood Park, Alberta native acquired numerous awards during his collegiate tenure, including being named to Seneca's Athlete Hall of Fame after the 2001-02 season.

Most recently, Wismer was Seneca's third leading scorer last season collecting 21 points (7-14=21) in 13 games played. He was Ontario Colleges Athletic Association's (OCAA) Championship All-Star and bronze medallist. Wismer was OCAA's First-Team All-Star for two seasons (1999-2001), in addition to being the club's most valuable player and top scorer. Wismer was named CCAA All-Canadian in 2001, and Seneca's Male Athlete of the Year in 2000.
