Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced today that forward Christian Larrivee has agreed to terms for the 2005-2006 season. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6'3", 200-pound native of Gaspe, Quebec, was originally drafted in the 4th round (#114 overall) by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Last season he was one of five players sent to the Ice Dogs from Montreal, and played in a total of 53 games totaling 9 goals, 20 assists and 18 penalty minutes. He was called up to Hamilton once last season, playing in 9 games and scoring 1 goal. He was tied for second on the team in playoff scoring, with 1 goal and 6 assists in 7 playoff games.

"Christian is poised for a breakout season offensively", said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Malcolm Cameron. "He had a tremendous second half to the season and outstanding playoffs and we look for him to build on that level of success this year. He's big, strong, skates well and has outstanding puck skills, which should lead to an increase in his offensive output this year."

Prior to playing in Long Beach, Larrivee played in all 72 games for the Columbus Cottonmouths of the ECHL during the 2004-04 season, tallying 33 points. He played junior hockey for the Chicoutimi Sagueneens of the QMJHL from 1999-2003. He finished with 106 goals, 155 assists and 173 penalty minutes in 263 games played. He will be attending training camp with the Rochester Americans of the AHL, along with fellow teammate Steeve Villeneuve.

Opening night is Friday, October 28th, versus the Fresno Falcons at 7:30 PM. Season tickets for the 2005-06 season are on sale now, and can be secured by depositing just $100 per seat. Call (562) ICE-DOGS for visit www.icedogs.com for more information.
