Ice Dogs Agree To Terms With Cheverie

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Ice Dogs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Malcolm Cameron, announced today he has agreed to terms with center Evan Cheverie. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6-foot-1, 200 pound native of Charlottetowne, Prince Edward Island is the fourth former player of Cameron to join him in Long Beach. The 24-year-old, who has scored nearly a point a game in his professional career, will be joining former teammates Joe Cardarelli, Paul Dunphy and Gary Zinck.

Cheverie spent time with three different teams last season, including 12 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL, accumulating 3 goals and 10 penalty minutes. He also added 36 points in 31 games with the Columbus Stars of the UHL, and 21 points in 29 games with Cincinnati of the ECHL. Cheverie played his first pro season for Cameron during the 2002-03 season with Cincinnati, scoring 18 goals and 31 assists in 56 games with the Cyclones. He has a total of 70 points in 83 ECHL games.

"I'm very excited to have Evan play for me again", said Cameron. "He is a very gifted offensive player with tremendous speed and has elevated his play every year."

"I'm really excited to be playing again for Malcolm", said Cheverie. "I'm looking forward to a winning season and hopefully winning a championship in Long Beach."
