Lord Stanley To Make Appearance at War Memorial

Johnstown, PA- The Johnstown Chiefs announced today that the Stanley Cup will be on display at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena on Friday, July 9th, from 11:00 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. The viewing of the cup will be open to the public. To see the cup, the Chiefs are asking for a $1 donation with all proceeds going to the Galen Head Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund.

"We are extremely grateful to have to Stanley Cup on display here at the War Memorial for our fans and the people of Johnstown to see," said Chiefs Vice-President and General Manager Jim Brazill. "We are very proud of Dana Heinze and his accomplishments with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He was a valuable member of the Johnstown Chiefs organization for so many years. It is great that he can share his day with the Cup with all of us," Brazill added.

The Stanley Cup will be in Johnstown for one day with Tampa Bay Lightning equipment manager and Westmont native Dana Heinze. Prior to joining the Lightning, Heinze was the equipment manager of the Chiefs for seven seasons in two tours from 1988-92 and 1995-99.

"It has been a dream come true to be a part of a Stanley Cup winning team. I am so excited to bring the Stanley Cup to Johnstown and share it with the people of my hometown," said Heinze.

Tampa Bay captured the Stanley Cup on June 7th in game #7, with their 2-1 victory over the Calgary Flames.

Season ticket packages and flex plans are now available by calling the Chiefs office at (814) 539-1799 or 1-800-SLAPSHOT. Opening night is scheduled for Saturday, October 23rd when the Chiefs host the Wheeling Nailers at 7:00 p.m.
