Ice Bats' Beaudry Named CHL's Goalie Of The Week

March 17, 2008 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Austin Ice Bats News Release

The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipient for the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending March 16th, 2008 is Ice Bats goaltender Miguel Beaudry of the Austin Ice Bats.

Beaudry wins the award for the fourth time this season after having a remarkable week that has put the Ice Bats on the brink of making the playoffs for the first time since the 2002-03 season (lost in the finals to Memphis). The Verner, Ontario native went 4-0 allowing just six goals, never more than two in a game. He stopped 109 shots on the week for a save percentage of .948. On the season, Beaudry is 21-18-1 with a 2.72 goals against average and a .918 save percentage. He has gone 16-5-1 with two shutouts in 2008 and has the Ice Bats just one point away from clinching a CHL Ray Miron President's Cup playoff berth.

The Ice Bats are the AA Affiliate for the NHL's Minnesota Wild and the AHL's Houston Aeros (AAA). The team is currently playing its 12th season in Austin. Single game tickets and mini-plans are available by calling 512-927-7825 or visiting icebats.com.
