Brooklyn Cyclones News Release
Brooklyn, NY - The Cyclones fell to the Hudson Valley Renegades by the score of 3-1 on Thursday night at Maimonides Park. Renegades starter Matt Sauer (1-1) was dominant over his 7.1 innings on the mound, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out nine. Brooklyn's lone run of the game came on a solo shot off the bat of Joe Suozzi, his second home run of the season.
RHP Garrison Bryant (1-1) was the hard-luck loser for Brooklyn. The right-hander was solid for the Cyclones, allowing just two runs on four hits over his 5.0 innings while striking out five. Bryant cruised through the first 4.0 innings but ran into trouble in the top of the fifth when the Renegades plated a pair courtesy of an Eduardo Torrealba RBI double and an RBI single from Aaron Palensky to take a 2-0 edge.
That would be all the offense Hudson Valley would need as Brooklyn's lone tally came in the bottom of the sixth on Suozzi's solo shot.
The two squads will square off again on Friday night at Maimonides Park when the Cyclones send RHP Daison Acosta to the mound. Game time is 7:00 PM.
