Hustle Struggle in Fourth, Fall to Raptors 905

Southaven, Miss. - The Memphis Hustle (20-7) lost for just the second time at home this season, falling to Raptors 905 by a score of 129-118 at Landers Center Friday night. The game was a battle that included 18 lead changes and 13 ties, but Raptors 905 outscored Memphis 30-19 in the final frame.

Neither team could miss early, with Memphis shooting 8-of-9 from long range after the opening period and 905 shooting 7-of-9. Both teams continued their efficiency throughout most of the game, but Memphis fell stagnant in the second half. After making 12 of their first 18 three-point attempts, the Hustle would knock down just two of their final 14. Raptors 905 kept it going and finished the game shooting 49.5 percent overall (45-91 FG), 50 percent from three-point range (19-38 3P) and 92.9 percent from the line (13-14 FT). Raptors 905 also held a distinct 52-39 advantage on the boards, including 12-5 on the offensive glass.

Entering the fourth quarter, the game was tied at 99-99 but Raptors 905 outscored Memphis 18-6 over the first 7:31 of the period. The Hustle shot just 6-of-24 (.250) from the field and 1-of-10 (.100) from three-point range in the frame.

Jarrod Uthoff recorded his 11th double-double of the season, totaling 24 points and 14 rebounds while adding three assists and three steals. Dusty Hannahs tallied 23 points and knocked down his first four three-point attempts. Josh Jackson chimed in with 23 points of his own and added five boards and four blocks. Yuta Watanabe poured in 16 points. John Konchar dished out 13 assists, marking a new team season-high.

All five starters for the Raptors scored at least 18 points. Henry Ellenson led the 905 attack with 31 points on 10-of-15 from the field and 6-of-9 from long range. Two-way player Paul Watson (22 points, 11 rebounds) added a double-double to go with six assists and two blocks. Michael Bethea Jr. knocked down five of his first six threes on his way to 20 points. Tyler Ennis flirted with a triple-double, adding 18 points along with nine rebounds and nine assists. Devin Robinson also contributed 18 points of his own.

The Hustle return to action tomorrow at 7 p.m. CT against the Austin Spurs at Landers Center as the team hosts Grizzlies Takeover Night, which will include Grizzlies-themed uniforms and in-game entertainment. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Grizzlies themed Hustle t-shirt at the door and the themed jerseys will be auctioned off via Handbid with the net proceeds benefiting the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation.
