College Park Skyhawks News Release

COLLEGE PARK, GA - The College Park Skyhawks fell in overtime at home to the Lakeland Magic 111-110 on Faith and Family Night, despite a career-high night from Armoni Brooks. With the loss, the Skyhawks slip to 15-14 on the season. Video highlights of the game can be found here.

The Skyhawks took a 27-26 lead into the second quarter, thanks in part to 12 points from Brooks. He stayed hot in the second, matching his previous career-high 24 points in the first two quarters alone to give College Park a 20-point advantage at the half. The Magic trimmed the deficit to just one with under a minute to play. After Tahjere McCall hit two free throws, Josh Magette connected on a three on the other end to send the game to overtime. Lakeland scored four quick points in the two-minute period and College Park cut it to one down the stretch, but it wouldn't be enough.

Brooks led the Skyhawks with a career-high 38 points, including nine triples, while McCall recorded a triple-double of 22 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. Nick Ward added 17 points and nine rebounds and Marcus Derrickson contributed 15 points. The loss puts the Skyhawks on a season-high four-game losing streak.

The Skyhawks hit the road for a three-game trip, taking on the Texas Legends on Jan. 26. The team returns home on Feb. 7 to match-up against the Delaware Blue Coats. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Gateway Center Arena @ College Park. For more information on the Skyhawks inaugural season and to register for updates, please visit CPSkyhawks.com.
