
Hustle Lose against Oklahoma City to Finish Homestand

Southaven, Miss. - The Memphis Hustle (4-4) lost to the Oklahoma City Blue (7-2) 114-104 Sunday afternoon at Landers Center. The Hustle completed a six-game homestand, the longest in franchise history, with a 4-2 record. Grizzlies assignee Jevon Carter finished with a game-high 30 points (8-17 FG, 6-9 3P, 8-8 FT), including six consecutive three-pointers during the third quarter, to go with a productive seven rebounds, six assists and four steals.
Carter scored half of the team's 50 second half points (25). Brandon Goodwin finished with 14 points and a team-high seven assists. Tanner McGrew scored all 13 of his points in the first half. Dusty Hannahs knocked down 3-of-5 three-point attempts, finishing with 11 points. Two-way player Yuta Watanabe (10 points) also finished in double figures.
Three Oklahoma City players finished with double-doubles and six finished with double digits in scoring. K.J. McDaniels (20 points, 10 rebounds) led the scoring effort while Tyler Davis had a big night down low, finishing with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Abdul Gaddy finished the game with 13 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds. Bryce Alford (18 points) knocked down five three-pointers.
Both teams had multiple quick runs in a back-and-forth first half, which featured six lead changes, until Oklahoma City closed the second quarter on an 11-4 run over the final 2:48 for a 64-54 halftime lead. Carter's 20 points in the third quarter led to an 86-83 Hustle lead before a Gaddy three-pointer at the buzzer tied the game at 86-86 heading into the fourth quarter.
However, the Hustle went cold in the fourth quarter, shooting just 6-of-16 (.375) from the field while Oklahoma City knocked down 12-of-17 (.706) field goal attempts. The Blue took advantage near the basket, outscoring the Hustle 66-34 in the paint and owning a 50-40 lead on the boards, including a 16-9 margin on the offensive glass.
The Hustle will play its first road game in 22 days on Tuesday, November 27 at 7:30 p.m. CT against the Northern Arizona Suns at the Prescott Valley Event Center. The Hustle will return home on Saturday, December 1 when the team takes on the South Bay Lakers at 7 p.m. at Landers Center.
