March 10, 2018 - NBA G League (G League)
Memphis Hustle News Release
The Memphis Hustle lost its first home game in two weeks, 126-122, against the Santa Cruz Warriors, Saturday at Landers Center. The Warriors took the regular season series with the Hustle 2-1. Both teams turned the ball over 11 times, but only Santa Cruz was able to take advantage, outscoring the Hustle 19-6 in points off turnovers.
The first half was a back-and-forth affair that featured 15 lead changes and nine ties. Eventually, the Warriors wrestled away control of the game and pushed the lead to 21 (94-73) with 1:29 remaining in the third frame before Memphis closed the quarter on a 9-2 run to cut the Santa Cruz lead to 14. No stranger to large deficits, the Hustle started the fourth quarter on a 26-12 spurt to tie the game at 108-108 just over halfway through the period. Memphis would tie the game twice more but would never retake the lead.
Damion Lee and two-way player Chris Boucher led the Warriors attack with 25 points apiece. Boucher (8-12 FG, 3-5 3P) also posted 12 rebounds, marking his fourth double-double in his last six games with Santa Cruz. Lee also had a productive night outside of the points column, contributing eight rebounds and seven assists. Jeremy Pargo (19 points) dished a game-high 11 assists and has notched 10-or-more assists in four of his six games since joining the Warriors. Portland two-way player C.J. Wilcox (17 points), Michael Gbinije (13 points) and Avry Holmes (11 points) also reached double figures.
Marquis Teague (30 points) had his second 30-point outing of the season on 11-of-15 shooting (4-5 3P) while dishing out six assists. Austin Nichols chipped in with 18 points and six rebounds. Two-way player Myke Henry (6-10 FG, 3-6 3P) scored all 16 of his points in the first half. Omari Johnson scored 14 points while Jeremy Morgan contributed 12 points and a team-high tying six assists. J.J. Frazier (11 points) posted his third straight game in double figures.
