AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Spurs (29-16), presented by SWBC, defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce for their fourth straight win 113-94 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park Saturday night. The Spurs played in front of a crowd of over 5,200 fans.
Rookie Jaron Blossomgame led the Spurs with 20 points and 8 rebounds in 29 minutes. On assignment from San Antonio, Derrick White contributed with 19 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists in 25 minutes.
The game started off close with neither team leading by more than seven points in the first quarter. Austin gained momentum in the second quarter winning it 34-21. The Spurs went into halftime with a double-digit lead of 60-49. In the second half, the Spurs extended their lead to 18 points with an 11-2 run midway into the third quarter. The Skyforce were able to cut the deficit to 10 points in the fourth quarter, but a late 18-5 run by Austin helped secure the victory.
For the Skyforce (24-20), Torrey Craig led the team with 24 points and 8 rebounds in 32 minutes, while Derrick Walton Jr. contributed with 18 points and 5 assists and 5 rebounds in 27 minutes.
