
Hustle Defeat Spurs Behind Matthew Hurt's Career Night

Southaven, Miss. - The Memphis Hustle (18-6), the NBA G League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, defeated the Austin Spurs (7-18) 112-97 to split the two-game series at Landers Center.
Matthew Hurt led the Hustle with 30 points and five blocks, both career highs. Damien Jefferson added 18 points off the bench. Dakota Mathias chipped in 12 points. Jacob Gilyard notched his sixth double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 assists. Justin Bean contributed 10 points and eight rebounds.
The Spurs got a double-double from Jordan Hall, who scored 11 points and 11 rebounds. Jordan Murphy tallied 21 points and eight rebounds. Brandon Randolph contributed 15 points. Chaundee Brown Jr. chipped in 13 points and nine rebounds.
After the Spurs led 57-51 at halftime, the Hustle went on a 15-0 run in the third quarter to turn a nine-point deficit into a 74-68 lead with 3:01 remaining in the period. Memphis increased the margin to 17 points in the closing seconds.
The Hustle limited the Spurs to 40 points in the second half. The Hustle shot 55.4% from the field and 48% from beyond the arc. Memphis limited Austin to just 21.4% shooting from beyond the arc. The Hustle bench outscored the Spurs reserves 43-30.
The Hustle will hit the road for a two-game road trip, starting with a visit to Oshkosh, Wisconsin to face off against the Herd on Monday, March 13, at 6 p.m. CT.
