Prince Albert Raiders News Release
The goal scoring didn't come until the second period, and it was a weird goal that gave the Hurricanes a 1-0 lead. A backhand pass from Tyson Laventure was going wide of the net and into the corner, but it redirected off of a Raider defender's skate and into the back of the net. The former Raider Laventure picked up his 20th goal of the season with the friendly bounce, giving Lethbridge a 1-0 lead 9:17 into the second period.
The 'Canes made it 2-0 right after a faceoff with 1:21 to go in the middle frame. Brayden Edwards picked up the puck off the draw and fired a shot five hole past Max Hildebrand. The quick shot put Lethbridge up 2-0, and they took that lead into the third period with the shots even at 20-20.
Tyson Zimmer added another goal for Lethbridge at the 5:04 mark of the third period, as the Hurricanes won by a 3-0 final. Max Hildebrand stopped 27 of 30 shots in the loss for Prince Albert, while Bryan Thomson stopped all 31 shots in the win for Lethbridge.
The Raiders (25-30-3-0) will look to bounce back tomorrow night in Moose Jaw. Puck drop is 7pm.
