Calgary Hitmen News Release
Lethbridge, AB - Dino Kambeitz scored his second goal of the game three minutes into overtime to propel the Lethbridge Hurricanes past the Calgary Hitmen 5-4 on Friday night at ENMAX Centre.
Justin Hall set the stage for extra time by notching a power play marker with 3:59 remaining. Koletrane Wilson and Alex Cotton also scored for the Hurricanes.
Riley Stotts led the Hitmen with a goal and two assists to eclipse the 150 career point plateau. James Malm, Orca Wiesblatt and Jett Woo tallied the other goals for Calgary which turned a 3-1 first period deficit into a 4-3 third period lead before the Lethbridge rally.
Despite the setback, the Hitmen have now picked up at least a point in seven of their last nine road games posting a record of 5-2-2-0.
Calgary outshot Lethbridge 30-22 but lost the special teams battle going 1-4 on the power play compared to the 'Canes 3-6 performance with the man advantage.
With the victory, the Hurricanes improve to 21-10-0-5 while the Hitmen slip to 16-10-4-1.
