Saskatoon Blades News Release

Prince Albert, SK - The Saskatoon Blades have defeated the East Division leading Prince Albert Raiders for the fourth time this season.

The 3-2 Friday night win, the third win in a row against the Raiders for the Blades, came off the back of a classic 32 save Nolan Maier performance. Despite Saskatoon being outshot 34 to 15, Maier's heroics in net kept the Blades in the game all night long.

Riley McKay's 2nd of the night stood as the game winning goal late in the third period, as he surpassed his career high in goals scored. He was assisted by Chase Wouters & Tristen Robins on the play, who are now respectively on four & six game point streaks.

Rookie Colton Dach tied the game up 2-2 late in the second period with his second goal of the campaign, a top shelf beauty, following McKay's first of the night which levelled the score 1-1 earlier in the period. Wouters earned an assist on this goal too, giving him a multi-point night performance.

The Blades & Raiders will be right back at each other's throats on Saturday night, December 28th, at SaskTel Centre. Puck drop for their sixth meeting of the season is at 7pm. The Blades currently hold a 4-1-0-0 series lead over their Northern rivals.
