Game Day Preview: Pats Return from Xmas Break to Visit Moose Jaw Friday

The Regina Pats (8-18-3-1) return from the Christmas Break on Friday night on the road against the Moose Jaw Warriors (10-17-2-0). Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. at Mosaic Place. The Pats were last in action on December 15 when they picked up a point in a 5-4 final at home to Winnipeg. The Warriors last game was December 14 when they lost 5-4 in overtime at home to Kelowna. Tonight is the fourth of eight meetings between Regina and Moose Jaw this year, the Pats are 1-2-0-0 so far in the season series. Robbie Holmes scored twice and added an assist, Max Paddock made 42 saves and the Regina Pats earned a point in a 5-4 shootout loss at home to the Winnipeg ICE on Sunday. The ICE scored the game's first goal, just under nine minutes in, to lead 1-0. Regina got it back with just over two minutes left on a pretty passing play from Ty Kolle to Austin Pratt and Robbie Holmes who scored his 12th to make it 1-1. Winnipeg responded 1:17 later thanks to Owen Pederson and led 2-1 at the break. In the second, the Regina powerplay struck when Carson Denomie ripped a shot into the top corner for his eighth and it was 2-2. Winnipeg took the lead back with a powerplay goal of their own at 12:35, but for the third time in the game, the Pats found a way to draw even. Ty Kolle snapped in his 12th from the left circle and it was 3-3 going to the third. Robbie Holmes gave the Pats their first lead of the game, 6:08 into the final period, on a shot from the right circle, his 13th. Winnipeg tied it, forcing OT and the shootout and took the two points in a 5-4 final.

October 6, 2019 - The Warriors got goals from Owen Hardy, Carson Denomie and Eric Alarie to beat the Pats 3-0 in Moose Jaw. Bailey Brkin stopped all 19 shots faced for the shutout, while Max Paddock stopped 22 of 25 in the loss.
