Hurricanes Announce Year End Awards

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes announced their annual year end award recipients prior to Friday's final home game of the regular season against the Swift Current Broncos.

The Hurricanes presented ten awards:

Hockey Hounds Scholastic Player of the Year: Tyler Wong

ENMAX Community Relations: Andrew Nielsen

Select People Solutions Hardest Working Player: Tyler Wong

ROCK 106 Three Stars Award: Stuart Skinner

Kodiak Heating and Air Conditioning Fan Favourite Award: Tyler Wong

Joan Kobal Memorial Award (Perseverance, Dedication, & Sportsmanship) - Giorgio Estephan

Integrity Hyundai Top Scorer: Tyler Wong

Simpson Plumbing Top Defenseman: Nick Walters

Carl Trentini Memorial Award (Rookie of the Year): Stuart Skinner

Harry Ingarfield Memorial Award (Most Valuable Player): Tyler Wong

The ceremonies concluded as the Hurricanes honoured 19-year-old Captain Jamal Watson with a Dre Beats Pill. As well, the Hurricanes saluted their three overage players: Mike Winther, Devan Fafard, and Nick Walters who were presented their framed jersey and game photo by Hurricanes Head Coach and General Manager, Peter Anholt.
