
Hubbard Excels in Debut with Legends

FRISCO, TX --The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), fell to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in their third matchup against the in-state rivals 122-131.
The game stayed close for four quarters with 14 lead changes and the largest deficit recorded at 10 points. The Legends got off to a slow start but came out of halftime firing, taking their largest lead in the third quarter with a nine-point advantage over the Vipers. Marcus Hubbard, playing his first game with the team, added 13 points in the third to boost the Legends to a 93-86 lead. The Vipers, behind the hot shooting of Tim Ohlbrecht who added 12 points in the final 12 minutes, took their final lead with four minutes to play. The Vipers now take a 2-1 lead over the Legends in the eight game season series.
Devin Ebanks had a game-high 34 points and 16 rebounds while Hubbard added 26 points and 14 rebounds. Booker Woodfox came off the bench to add 21 points, while Ramon Dyer blocked a game-high 3 shots. The Vipers had four starters with 20-plus points, led by Robert Covington with 28. Gary Talton and Christapher Johnson each added double-doubles.
