Charleston, SC- Jeff Marquez pitched seven solid innings and Estee Harris homered and drove in four runs, leading the Charleston RiverDogs past the Greensboro Grasshoppers 7-2 and completing a four-game series sweep. The RiverDogs improved their league-leading record to 36-18, and to a league-best 20-7 at Riley Park.

With the win, the RiverDogs moved a season-high 18 games above the .500 mark, and finished a stretch of 12 straight games against Northern Division opponents with a 9-3 record. Charleston maintained its 4.5 game lead over second-place Augusta in the Southern Division standings with 16 games left in the first half, as the Greenjackets defeated Hickory 4-3 Thursday.

Marquez (4-5), pitching for the first time since May 22nd because of a back injury, allowed only one run on seven hits in seven innings to earn his second consecutive victory. The right-hander is now 4-2 in seven starts since beginning the season 0-3.

The RiverDogs broke open a tie game with four two-out runs in the bottom of the fourth against Kurt Koehler (0-4). Irwil Rojas began the scoring with an RBI double, plating Cody Ehlers from second base to make it 1-0. After Yosvany Almario doubled, Harris drove his fourth home run of the season over the right field fence to widen the gap to 4-0.

Harris followed another Rojas RBI double in the sixth inning with one of his own to make the score 6-1 RiverDogs, this time getting thrown out trying to stretch the hit into a triple. The left fielder finished 2-3 with a walk and a season-high four RBI.

Greensboro lost for the sixth straight game, and the 11th in their last 13. The Grasshoppers became the fourth four-game sweep victim at the hands of Charleston this season (Greenville 4/23-25, Savannah 5/6-5/8, Columbus 5/17-5/20, Greensboro 5/30-6/2).

The RiverDogs begin a big four-game series at Rome Friday night, sending left-hander Chase Wright (3-2) to the mound against righty Chris Vines (3-1). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm. Charleston then returns home for an eight-game home stand beginning Tuesday night against Kannapolis at 7:05 pm.
