Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON (Saturday, July 18, 2015) - The Houston Dynamo face Real Salt Lake at 9 p.m. CT tonight at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah in the first of two meetings this season between the Western Conference foes.
Tonight's game will be broadcast live on ROOT SPORTS Southwest Alternate Channel (channel guide) and can be heard on Yahoo Sports Radio 1560 AM and in Spanish on La Ranchera 850 AM and 101.7 FM.
Tonight is the first leg of a two-city road trip for the Dynamo. Houston will travel to Kansas City on Monday to prepare for Tuesday's U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal at Sporting Kansas City. With a quarterfinal win, the Dynamo would host Real Salt Lake in the semifinals at BBVA Compass Stadium.
The Dynamo will be missing two players who are with their national teams for the CONCACAF Gold Cup: Jamaica international Giles Barnes and United States national team defender DaMarcus Beasley. Real Salt Lake will miss midfielder Kyle Beckerman and goalkeeper Nick Rimando (USA) and defender Demar Phillips (Jamaica), who are also at the Gold Cup.
Tonight is Houston's sixth road game in eight games and part of a span of 10 of 14 games away from home.
Dynamo forward Will Bruin scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season in last Friday's 2-0 win at San Jose. The fifth-year forward has 49 career goals in all competitions with the Dynamo.
Real Salt Lake is led by Argentinian midfielder Javier Morales, who recorded a hat trick against the Dynamo last May and has 40 goals and 71 assists in nine seasons with RSL. The team also features forward Joao Plata, an Ecuadorian who tallied 13 goals and six assists last season.
The Dynamo return to BBVA Compass Stadium on Saturday, July 25 to host the LA Galaxy. For tickets for the Dynamo's tenth season, including five-game plans starting at $99, visit www.HoustonDynamo.com or call 713-276-GOAL.
