Sebastian Giovinco Named to 2015 AT&T MLS All-Star Game

Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco was selected by MLS All-Star Head Coach Pablo Mastroeni to participate in the 2015 AT&T MLS All-Star Game. He joins teammate Michael Bradley who was voted into the MLS Fan XI on Monday, July 13. The MLS All-Stars will meet English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, July 29 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in the Denver suburb of Commerce City, Colorado. Kick-off is set for 9:00 p.m. ET and will air live on FOX Sports 1, UniMás, and TSN and RDS in Canada.

Giovinco is currently in his first season with Toronto FC after the club signed the Italian international as a Designated Player on January 19, 2015. He has registered 13 goals and 10 assists in all competitions (12 MLS goals, nine MLS assists and one Amway Canadian Championship goal and assist) for Toronto FC this season. On July 12 against New York City FC, Giovinco scored a first-half hat trick within a nine-minute span, which ties for the third fastest in MLS history. He also became the first player in club history to record a hat trick during league play. Through 18 MLS league matches this season, he has become Toronto FC's franchise leader for combined goals and assists in a single season (21), assists in a season (9), shots in a season (106) and shots on goal in a season (46). He currently sits in second for the franchise record with 12 goals in a season. Giovinco has been named to the MLS Team of the Week five times this season (Week 9, Week 12, Week 13, Week 14 and Week 19). He became the first player in Toronto FC history to be named MLS Player of the Week three times in a season (Week 13, Week 14 and Week 19).

This is Giovinco's first MLS All-Star team selection. Toronto FC's All-time All-Stars player list includes Ronnie O'Brien (2007), Jimmy Brennan (2008), Dwayne De Rosario (2009 & 2010), Michael Bradley (2014 & 2015) and Jermain Defoe (2014 - pulled out due to injury).
