Houston Dynamo FC Sign Diego Gonzalez and Talen Maples to Short-Term Loan Agreements from Dynamo 2

HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo FC signed defender Talen Maples and midfielder Diego Gonzalez from Houston Dynamo 2 to short-term loans. Both players will be available for the U.S. Open Cup match against Sporting KC at Shell Energy Stadium later today.
Maples has made 35 career MLS NEXT Pro starts for Dynamo 2 and has led the team to 11 clean sheets. On April 2, the San Antonio native scored his first goal of the season against Colorado 2 at SaberCats Stadium. Maples signed with Dynamo 2 on Feb. 19, 2022, and has anchored the backline as the team captain for two campaigns.
Gonzalez is a Houston Dynamo Academy product who has started every match for Dynamo 2 this season. Last week against Sporting KC II, Gonzalez scored and recorded an assist in the 4-1 win on the road. The Houston native has made 25 MLS NEXT Pro appearances since the league began in 2022. The 20-year-old grew up in Magnolia Park and joined the Houston Dynamo Academy at the age of 12 from Academia Revolución. Gonzalez captained the U-23 team in 2021 prior to joining Dynamo 2.
