Colorado Rapids Unveil Plans for 'North Boundary' Gameday Destination at DICK's Sporting Goods Park

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - The Colorado Rapids announced today plans to renovate the north terrace at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park into the 'North Boundary,' the first field-level, outdoor patio in Denver sports. Construction has begun and the space will open to the public on July 4 for the club's annual 4th Fest celebrations as the Rapids take on the Portland Timbers.

"We're thrilled to announce our plans for the North Boundary and provide our fans with a new, immersive and engaging way to experience Rapids games," said Colorado Rapids Chief Business Officer Wayne Brant. "The North Boundary adds to our ongoing matchday enhancements this year as part of our commitment to providing a top-class experience for our incredible fans and making Rapids games the heartbeat of sport in Colorado."

Designed by Denver-based planning & landscape architecture firm StackLot and constructed by Turner Construction, the North Boundary will more than double the capacity of the stadium's current north terrace. The renovated area, located just steps behind the north goal, will feature field-side seating, patio tables and a communal space for fans to experience the game up close while enjoying exclusive access to food trucks, bars and gameday activations.

"In designing the space, we sought to combine the communal nature that's characteristic of soccer with the outdoor lifestyle we all love about Colorado. We're excited to see the North Boundary come to life and be a year-round destination at Rapids games."

The renovation of the terrace is the latest addition to a series of Rapids gameday experience updates in 2023 that include additional block parties, a simplified stadium entry process and an expanded supporters' section, among other changes.
