HOUSTON - The Houston Dynamo host the LA Galaxy at 6:00 p.m. CDT tonight at BBVA Compass Stadium in a match presented by UniMás Houston. Tickets are available at www.HoustonDynamo.com, by calling 713-276-GOAL, or by visiting the BBVA Compass Stadium box office (2200 Texas St., Houston).

The game will be broadcast live on UniMás (channel 67). It can be heard on CBS Sports Radio 650 AM KIKK and the Radio.com app and in Spanish on Univision Radio 1010 AM KLAT.

Tonight's weather forecast calls for partly cloudy skies, zero percent chance of rain and 82 degrees Fahrenheit at kickoff.

Game Notes

The Dynamo are 5-1-1 in their last seven regular-season matches against the Galaxy, including a 3-0 home win in the previous meeting last July 25. Tonight's match is the 22nd all-time regular-season meeting, with Houston leading the series, 9-7-5, including a 6-3-2 mark in home games. The teams contested consecutive MLS Cup Finals in 2011 and 2012, with the Galaxy winning both on home soil.

The Galaxy, winners of three of the last five MLS Cups, feature Liverpool legend and former England captain Steven Gerrard, who is expected to play tonight after missing the last two games with a calf injury. Mexico national team forward Giovani dos Santos joined the club last summer and could face the Dynamo for the first time tonight. Robbie Keane, the 2014 MLS MVP and Ireland's all-time scorer, will miss tonight's match recovering from knee surgery.

Galaxy manager Bruce Arena made several roster moves in the offseason, selling center back Omar Gonzalez to Pachuca and midfielder Juninho to Club Tijuana. Reinforcements included well-known European players such as Ashley Cole, Nigel de Jong (who is suspended tonight) and Jelle Van Damme, along with MLS veterans Mike Magee (2013 MLS MVP) and Jeff Larentowicz. U.S. national team midfielder/forward Gyasi Zardes is tied for the team lead with Robbie Keane and Magee (two goals each).

The Dynamo have enjoyed success against LA over the last five seasons, with a 5-1-1 (W-L-T) mark over the last seven regular-season games between the clubs, dating to October 2011, the final meeting at Robertson Stadium. Last year, the Dynamo won the final meeting on July 25, a 3-0 triumph at BBVA Compass Stadium. The teams played twice early last season at LA's StubHub Center, with the Galaxy securing a 1-0 win after a 1-1 draw in March.

The Dynamo have led MLS in scoring since Week 2, and now have 12 goals through five games, including nine goals in three home games. The offensive surge has been offset by the Dynamo losing second-half leads in three of five games this season, most recently the Seattle Sounders scored in the 94th minute for a 1-1 draw on Sunday. Historically, the Dynamo have been one of the best in MLS at holding leads. Houston is fifth all-time when scoring first (.814 win percentage) and fifth all-time when leading at halftime (.854 win percentage).

Dynamo defender David Horst can make his 100th career MLS regular-season start tonight. Goalkeeper Joe Willis is tied for the league lead with 27 saves this season.

After tonight game, the Dynamo return to the road for two games, beginning Saturday, April 23 at Columbus Crew SC. The match in Columbus will begin at 6:30 p.m. CDT and will air on KUBE TV, Channel 57.
