House Goes Distance Again Leaving Fireworks for Post Game

Sioux City, IA - The biggest fourth of July celebration in Siouxland was once again underway at MercyOne Field at Lewis and Clark Park tonight but the X's were unable to send the faithful home happy falling to the Milwaukee Milkmen 7-3.
In front of a crowd of 3,360 the largest crowd of the 2019 season TJ House of the Milkmen tossed his second straight complete game after going the distance against Sioux Falls in his last time out. House allowed only six hits, and three runs with just one walk allowed on eight strikeouts.
Those three runs were all driven in by X's left fielder Sebastian Zawada. Zawada brought home the first run in the second inning after Adam Sasser doubled to lead off the frame and advanced to third on a grounder before Zawada brought him home with a sacrifice fly to center.
Zawada also crushed his fifth home run of the season to left field in the seventh driving home two runs and at the time pulling the Explorers to within two runs at 5-3.
Milwaukee did most of their damage offensively off of Explorers pitcher Tyler Fallwell who was making a spot start and his first ever professional start. Fallwell gutted it out for 4 1/3 innings, allowing five runs on five hits, three walks and striking out six. He threw for a season high 94 pitches and the 4 1/3 innings were a season high as well.
Milwaukee took the lead that they would not relinquish in the first inning on a two out, two run single by Adam Walker to go up 2-0. The Explorers have now in five straight home games allowed multiple runs in the top of the first and have allowed a total of 40 first inning runs on the season making it their opponents highest scoring inning in 2019.
Milwaukee tacked on a run in the fourth after back to back singles and a ground out made it 3-1. And in the fifth they added another two on a pair of walks one run scored on an RBI single from Manuel Boscan and another on a ground out to go up 5-1.
Again Sioux City would cut that lead down to just two runs but the Milkmen in the next consecutive inning took those two runs right back scoring on a sacrifice fly and a throwing error by the catcher to give the game its final score of 7-3.
In the series the Milkmen have so far out scored the X's 13-4. And ever since the 13 run ball game in Lincoln on June 28th, the X's have scored just seven runs in four games an average of just 1.75 runs per game and five of those runs came on a couple of home runs.
Sioux City will look to right the ship and get the offense rolling in the series finale against Milwaukee on Independence Day as the X's will send Carlos Sierra to the mound against right hander Jordan Kraus for Milwaukee.
Once again fireworks will follow the game tomorrow night presented by Lantis Fireworks and the Explorers will be wearing alternate patriotic themed jerseys that will be sold during the game via a silent auction with the proceeds going to the Miracle League.
