The Hounds are tied with the Oklahoma City Blazers for the fourth seed. A win will give them a two point lead for the fourth seed with two games remaining. The Hounds do have one game in hand as Oklahoma City will finish their season on Saturday vs. Wichita while the Hounds finish up on Sunday at Bossier-Shreveport. Should the teams remain tie at the end of the season the first tie breaker is overall wins with the second tie breaker being head to head with the Hounds going 3-1-0 vs. the Blazers this season.

Preview:

Tonight is the final regular season meeting between these two division rivals this season with the potential of meeting in the first round of the playoffs. Memphis is locked into the third seed and are guaranteed home ice advantage in the first round while the Hounds need a victory to take over the coveted fourth seed in the standings. This is a game of superstars as combine these teams possess three ALL CHL selections and the Coach of the Year in the Central Hockey League with Youngstown's Jeff Christian and Chris Richards making the ALL CHL Team along with Memphis captain Derek Landmesser. RiverKing Head Coach Kevin McClelland was named CHL Coach of the Year in just his second season in the Mid-South. Of the 11 times that these two teams have played each other, six have went past regulation with five of those match-ups going to a shootout. Youngstown leads the league with 20 overtime games going 2-2 in OT and 8-8 in the shootout while Memphis has played 16 overtime games going 3-3 in OT and 7-3 in the shootout, all three shootout losses have been at the hands of the SteelHounds.
