
Hotty Toddy Hockey Action in Southaven Friday

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- The Mississippi RiverKings of the Central Hockey League and the Ole Miss Ice Rebels are combining for a doubleheader of Hotty Toddy hockey action this Friday night, November 5th.
Dubbed Border Ice Wars, the RiverKings and Ice Rebels will be defending the state line against invasions from Louisiana and Tennessee during the twin-bill of hockey action at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven that evening.
The RiverKings will host their long-standing CHL rivals from Louisiana, the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, in a regular season meeting that night at 7:05 PM.
Their half of the border war will be followed by the Ice Rebels defending the state line against an invasion of Volunteers from the University of Tennessee in the first of two weekend SECHC meetings between the teams. Friday's Ole Miss-Tennessee contest will start at 10:30 PM.
The Ole Miss Ice Rebels program is in its second season of existence, playing other SEC rivals under the banners of the American Club Hockey Association and the SEC Hockey Conference.
Through seven games of the regular season, Ole Miss carries a 5-2-0 record into this weekend's play, while Tennessee is 2-10-0 through 12 contests.
The RiverKings have a 2-4-0 mark entering Friday's action, while Bossier-Shreveport is 7-2-0 and leading the Berry Conference standings in the CHL.
Tickets to Friday's RiverKings game will also be honored for the Ice Rebels game that follows.
In addition, the Ole Miss Alumni Association has been named the MVP of the night. The DeSoto County and Memphis Rebel Clubs are doing a ticket fundraiser with the RiverKings, and Rebel fans who would like to help raise scholarship funds through this program should contact their alumni club representatives for more informations.
