(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - The United Auto Workers Local 2164, in partnership with the Bowling Green Hot Rods, will host a fundraiser to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, Kentucky Region on Father's Day, Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Bowling Green Ballpark during the Hot Rods' 2:05 p.m. game against the West Michigan Whitecaps.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will help fund the wish of three-year-old Bowling Green resident Mya who is battling leukemia. This brave little girl has big dreams to visit and explore the Florida Theme Parks.

To help raise funds for Mya, a silent auction will be held during the game featuring autographed sports memorabilia including baseballs signed by Major League Baseball stars and one-time Kentucky residents, the Milwaukee Brewers' Corey Hart and the Philadelphia Phillies' Joe Blanton.

After the Hot Rods face off against the Whitecaps, fathers and grandfathers will be permitted to play catch in the outfield with their children and grandchildren for 30 minutes.

Additional funds will be raised by selling tickets to play softball on the Hot Rods' field that evening in the Field of Dreams Game.

"This sure to be fun-filled event represents an opportunity for the whole family to recognize fathers, to celebrate life, and to share the power of a wish," remarked Executive Director Dan Koett. "Funds raised at this event will help the Foundation grant the wishes of local children battling life-threatening medical conditions, like Mya, and bring joy to families at a time when they need it the most."

For more information, to make a donation or to purchase a Field of Dreams ticket, please contact the United Auto Workers 2164 Union Hall at (270) 782-2164 or (270) 791-3584.
