BOWLING GREEN, KY - The Bowling Green Hot Rods (20-12) saw their 10 game winning streak come to an end with a 5-4, 10 inning loss to the Peoria Chiefs (14-16) Wednesday afternoon. Peoria scored a run in the ninth and then the winning run in extras to salvage one game of the series.

The Chiefs got things started early, as it took just six hitters to take a 2-0 lead off of Hot Rods starter RHP Austin Franklin.

The Hot Rods got a run back in the bottom of the second, when CF Emilio Gustave sent a ball to left that was misplayed by the Chiefs, and it scored C Ronaldo Hernandez, making it 2-1 Peoria.

After the Chiefs got the run back in the top of the third inning, the Hot Rods tied it in the bottom of the fourth, with two runs on four base hits and a bases loaded walk, making it a 3-3 game.

Bowling Green took the lead in the sixth, when Hernandez singled home SS Zach Rutherford, and it was 4-3 Hot Rods.

The Chiefs scored the tying run with one out in the ninth off of LHP Hunter Schryver, and got a one out single in the top of the 10th to take a 5-4 lead, which they did not relinquish.

Schryver takes the loss, falling to 0-1. RHP Kori Whitley (3-0) earned the win for the Chiefs.

Bowling Green welcomes in Cedar Rapids for the first of three games tomorrow night, with first pitch set for 6:35pm. LHP Brendan McKay (1-0, 1.45) will start for the Hot Rods, while RHP Randy Dobnak (3-0, 4.64) will get the ball for the Kernels.
