
Hot Komets Ride Win Streak To Six

Fort Wayne, IN â The Komets took another pair of games for the week and extended their win streak to 6 games and are unbeaten in regulation 8 consecutive games. The Komets also are riding streaks of 3 straight home wins and 4 straight road wins. The Komets improve to 32-13-4 after 17 weeks of the 2004-05 UHL campaign and trail the Rockford IceHogs by 2 points in the Western Conference race.
Friday night the Komets slipped past the Fury in Muskegon 2-1. Sean Venedam (LW) tallied his 30th goal of the season and Chris Grenville (RW) scored the game winner. Goaltender Kevin St. Pierre made 24 saves on 25 shots as the Komets improved to a perfect 5-0-0 record vs. Muskegon and will finish the season series April 1 in Fort Wayne.
Saturday the Komets clipped the visiting Quad City Mallards 3-2 in front of a sell-out crowd of 10,505 at the Memorial Coliseum. Venedam again opened the scoring for the Komets. Dustin Virag (RW) scored his 13th goal of the season and Grenville netted his 2nd game winner of the week. St. Pierre, appearing in his 10th straight start, registered his 6th straight win stopping 31 of 33 Quad City shots. The Komets lead the series against Quad City 4-1-0 with 2 meetings remaining.
This week the Komets are slated to play 4 games in 5 nights. Wednesday the Adirondack Frostbite make their first of 2 appearances this season at 7:30pm. Friday the Komets travel to Kansas City to face the Outlaws at 8:30pm (Fort Wayne time). Saturday night is the first of a home-and-home series against the River Otters at Missouri at 8:05 (Fort Wayne time). Sunday the Komets return home to host Missouri at 5pm.

Comcast Report Card Night nets $7,500 for Three Rivers Literacy Alliance.....a Fort Wayne sell-out crowd of 10,505 Komet fans were on hand Saturday night for the annual Comcast Report Card Night. Students with A's or A-equivalents on their report card received free tickets to the game for their high-scoring effort and helped raise $7,500 for the Three Rivers Literacy Alliance courtesy of Comcast of Fort Wayne.
Season Ticket Exchange night Wednesday.....each season the Komets offer Season Ticket Exchange nights on various home dates. Season ticket holders can redeem their unused tickets from previously scheduled Komet home games for tickets on Season Ticket Exchange Nights. This Wednesday night, Feb. 9, is another Exchange Night as the Komets host the Adirondack Frostbite at 7:30. Unused season tickets can be exchanged at the Coliseum Ticket Office.
