
Mallards Continue Road Trip with Three Games in Missouri

Quad City Mallards News Release
Moline, IL â The Mallards went 1-2-0 last weekend and now stand at 20-20-7 on the season. Quad City beat Kansas City at The MARK on Friday before losing road games in Fort Wayne and Motor City. The Mallards five game road trip continues this week with a pair of games vs. Missouri on Wednesday and Friday. The Mallards trail Missouri by just eight points (with four games in hand) for the final playoff spot. The Mallards journey across the Show-Me State for a Saturday match-up with Kansas City. The team returns home on Sunday for a game vs. the Adirondack Frostbite.

Family Fun-Day returns to The MARK on February 13th vs. Adirondack. The first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive 2005 Calendar Posters courtesy of Bryant Heating and Cooling. Fans are invited down to the ice for a pre-game skate from 1:15 p.m.-2:00 p.m. before the Mallards take on the Frostbite at 3:00 p.m.
· Saturday, February 19th vs. the Missouri River Otters- Jersey Auction Night / Old Time Hockey Night featuring the organ music of Frank Pellico
The Mallards Jersey Auction is back for its tenth season. The team will be sporting a special one-night only jersey vs. the Otters. After the game, the jerseys will be auctioned off to fans in attendance with proceeds going to Genesis Health Systems. Genesis will use the proceeds to buy equipment designed to break down tumors. Over the first nine seasons of the Mallards jersey auction, the event has raised $410,000 for charity. It's also Frank Pellico's third appearance of the season at The MARK. Pellico is the legendary Chicago Blackhawks organist and has quickly developed a following amongst Mallards fans.

The Mallards welcome Scout Groups for an overnight sleepover at The MARK. The sleepover will follow the Mallards game vs. Motor City. For more information, contact the Mallards ticket office at (309) 764-7825.

· Wednesday, February 9th and Friday, February 11th vs. the Missouri River Otters in St. Charles, MO-The Mallards make their final trips to Missouri for 2004-05 on Wednesday and Friday. Quad City is 4-3-0 this year vs. the Otters.
· Saturday, February 12th vs. the Kansas City Outlaws in Kansas City, MO-The Mallards and Outlaws meet up for the sixth time this year on Saturday at Kemper Arena. The Mallards are 5-1-0 vs. Kansas City this year. The teams have split their only two meetings in Kansas City.
· Sunday, February 13th vs. the Adirondack Frostbite at The MARK-The Eastern Division's Frostbite make the first of two appearances at The MARK on Sunday. The Mallards are 2-0-0 vs. the Eastern Division this season with wins over Danbury and Elmira.

Friday, February 4th-Kansas City 3 at Quad City 4
After a scoreless first period, the fifth Mallards-Outlaws meeting of the season erupted into an offensive game with seven goals in the final 40 minutes. Outlaw Scott Kirton started the scoring with a 5-on-3 power-play goal at 6:45 of the second period. Joe Dusbabek evened the game with a goal just after a Mallards power play expired. Andy Fermoyle gave the Mallards a 2-1 lead with 52 seconds left in the period. Off a face off, Fermoyle scored on a shot that eluded Tim Knudsen for his first goal since returning to the Mallards line-up. In the third, Joe Seroski scored for the Kansas City to tie the game at two. The Mallards answered back with a pair of goals just 1:30 part. Frantisek Skladany scored at 5:46 of the final period. Greg Barber scored 90 seconds later to give the Mallards a 4-2 edge. Kansas City's Jimmy Callahan scored late in the second, but the Outlaws could pull no closer at the Mallards improved to 4-1-0 this year vs. Kansas City.
Saturday, February 5th-Quad City 2 at Fort Wayne 3
The Mallards lost a lead in the third period for the first time this season on Saturday in Fort Wayne. Joe Dusbabek gave the Mallards the lead 3:04 into the first period as he scored for the second consecutive night. The Komets tied the score before the first period ended on a goal by Sean Venedam. In the second, the Mallards reclaimed the lead on a power-play goal by Terry Hollinger. On the strength of Hollinger's marker, the Mallards headed into the third period with a 2-1 lead. In the final period, the Mallards surrendered two unanswered goals (Dustin Virag and Chris Grenville) to lose 3-2.
Sunday, February 6th-Quad City 1 at Motor City 3
The Mallards finished the weekend with a hard-fought loss to the Mechanics on Sunday in Fraser, Michigan. Matt Hunter staked Motor City to a 1-0 lead with a goal at the 15:27 mark of the first. In the second, Greg Barber scored shorthanded to even the game at one. Motor City's Kevin Hansen scored five minutes after Barber's tally to put Motor City in front 2-1. In the third period, former Detroit Red Wing Derian Hatcher added an insurance goal as the Mechanics secured their second home win of the season vs. the Mallards.
Player of the Week
Joe Dusbabek is the Mallards nominee for UHL Player of the Week. Dusbabek recorded three points (two goals and an assist) in three games this weekend.
Goaltender of the Week
Robert Gherson is the Mallards nominee for UHL Goaltender of the Week. Gherson stopped 61 of 67 shots while going 1-1-0 in two appearances this week.
