
IceHogs split the points to stay on top in West

The Rockford IceHogs wrapped up 10 of 13 games away from the Rockford MetroCentre during Week 17 by picking up three of six standings points. The IceHogs return home for Week 18 with three home games against non-Western Division rivals. On Saturday the IceHogs and Adirondack Frostbite meet up for the first and only meeting of the season in a game that pits two of the most imrpoved teams in the UHL.

Transactions
-Goaltender Seamus Kotyk was recalled to the Milwaukee on Thursday, February 3.
-Goaltender Marty Magers was re-acquired by the Quad City Mallards on Thursday, February 3.
-Winger Jason Ralph was loaned to the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks (AHL) on Thursday, February 3.
-Goaltender Michel Robinson was returned to Rockford from the Milwaukee Admirals on Friday, February 4.
-Goaltender Grady Hunt was re-signed on Friday, February 4.

Bacon Bits:
The IceHogs held Muskegon, the UHL's top power play team, to just 1-for11 on the advantage on Saturday night. Coming into Saturday's game, the Fury's average at home was over 32%.
The 11 power plays faced, tied a franchise record for most power plays by an opponent in a game.
The Hogs penalty kill on the road is tops in the UHL, stopping 87% of the oppositions power play and are fourth overall with an 85.2 kill rate.
Defenseman Vince Malts had two clutch goals last week. Malts scored the game winning goal on Wednesday against Muskegon then helped complete a three goal comeback with the game tying goal at Motor City Friday.
Winger Eric Labelle now has 357 penalty minutes which is tops in the UHL. The next closest skater is 100 PIM's behind Labelle, Fort Wayne's Jeff Worlton with 257.
The IceHogs finished a stretch of 10 of 13 away from the MetroCentre with a record of 8-4-1.

Hot Hog: Week 17
Defenseman Vince Malts: For the second week in a row a defenseman stepped up for Rockford and during Week 17 it was Vince Malts. Malts notched two big goals for Rockford including the game winning goal on Wednesday. Malts finished Week 17 with 2g-1a-3pts and a plus-2.
Upcoming Games:
Wednesday, February 9 vs. Port Huron Beacons Game will start at 7:05 p.m. The Beacons make their second trip of the season to Rockford. Wednesday is another PigOut with the IceHogs and 104.9FM, WXRX.
Friday, February 11 vs. Flint Generals. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.. Flint returns to Rockford for the second time this season. The first 1,000 fans to the game will receive an IceHogs Smash Hit Hockey Poster # 5 from Medicine Man, Johnson Press, Rockford Register Star, Pepsi and the Eagle 96.7FM
Saturday, February 12 vs. Adirondack Frostbite Game begins at 7:05 p.m. The Frostbite make their only visit to the MetroCentre this regular season when two of the most improved teams in the UHL match up. Chuckie from RugRats will be their and kids can meet him courtesy of Insight Communications and Y-95 FM.
