Odessa Jackalopes News Release

(Odessa, TX) - The Odessa Jackalopes have come up winless in their first four home games to start the season. Saturday, the Rocky Mountain Rage held on for a 3-2 victory over Odessa after scoring all their goals in the first period.

Jeff Pierce cut the deficit to two when he scored his fifth of the season at 6:21 of the second period.

Brian Swiniarski made it a one-goal game as the Jackalopes scored at 18:33 of the third period, with the goalie pulled in a last ditch effort. That's as close as they would come.

Special teams was a major factor as four of the five goals scored in the game came on the power play.

The Jackalopes continue their home stand on Tuesday night against the Arizona Sundogs. Game time is set for 7:05 PM.

The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The team is currently in its 12th season. Season tickets, mini-plans, and single game tickets are available by calling (432) 552-PUCK or visiting jackalopes.org.
