The Reading Fightin Phils have broken a 2-2 tie for two straight games against the Fisher Cats as Carlos Alonso hit a go-ahead solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to give the Fightins a 3-2 lead. Nefi Ogando earned his second straight save as he retired the side in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Two games in a row the Fisher Cats took an early lead as Gabe Jacobo hit a solo home run off Perci Garner in the bottom of the second inning off Perci Garner to give New Hampshire a 1-0 lead. Fisher Cats starter Aaron Sanchez did not give up a hit until the top of the fifth inning with two outs. After he walked Edgar Duran, he gave up a RBI double to Carlos Alonso then a RBI single to Albert Cartwright to give the Fightin Phils a 2-1 lead.

Perci Garner started the bottom of the seventh and left with two men on-base with one out. Ryan O'Sullivan came in to relieve Garner and allowed a sacrifice fly by Ryan Schimpf with the bases loaded to tie the game at 2-2. Carlos Alonso broke the 2-2 tie in the top of the eighth inning with a solo home run off reliever Scott Gracey to give the Fightin Phils a 3-2 lead.

Ryan O'Sullivan earned his second win of the season as the Fightin Phils improve to 18-17 on the season. They look for a series sweep on Wednesday morning at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 10:35 am.
