Albany Devils News Release
ALBANY, NY - Eric Gelinas, Mattias Tedenby and Steve Zalewski each contributed a goal and an assist in the Albany Devils 4-1 win against the Worcester Sharks Saturday at Times Union Center in front of a season-high crowd of 7,321.
Tedenby and Zalewski extended their goal streaks to four- and three-games, respectively, and Gelinas registered his fifth and sixth points in the last six contests.
Darcy Zajac was the Devils other goal scorer and Keith Kinkaid picked up his fifth consecutive win by making 16 saves on 17 shots. He improves to 11-7-3.
After Worcester grabbed an early lead thanks to a Freddie Hamilton tally at 7:16 of the first, Zalewski pulled the Devils even at 19:25. He converted on his own rebound from a wraparound opportunity with an assist going to Bobby Butler.
The Devils got the only lead they would need at 3:15 of the second. Tedenby delayed his shot on a give-and-go with Adam Larsson and pulled Sharks goaltender Alex Stalock out of position with a forehand-to-backhand move. Larsson extended his own point streak to three games with the assist.
Albany doubled its lead at 18:54 when Chad Wiseman created a turnover at center ice. Zalewski carried the puck into the offensive zone and dropped a pass to Gelinas for a one-timer.
Zajac put the game out of reach at 8:44 of the third when Tedenby threw a pass form the half wall for a quick redirect. It was Zajac's fourth tally of the season.
Albany, which went 1-for-4 on the power play, has registered five power-play goals in the last three games.
The Devils return to the ice Sunday with a 4 pm contest against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall. Fans can follow the action on 104.5 "The Team' ESPN Radio.
