BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that they have recalled goaltender Marc Cheverie, forward Jack Downing and defenseman Daniel New from the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL.
Cheverie, 25, has posted a record of 10-9-1 with 2.72 goals-against average and .913 save percentage in 21 games with the Jackals this season.
Downing, 23, has recorded 28 points (14 goals, 14 assists) in 34 games with the Jackals this season.
New, 23, has recorded 11 points (two goals, nine assists) in 21 games with the Jackals this season.
Cheverie and New have yet to appear in a game for the B-Sens this season. Downing skated in the B-Sens' 2-1 opening night victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Oct. 13, but recorded no points.
Also today defenseman Ben Blood has been reassigned by the club's National Hockey League affiliate Ottawa Senators from Elmira to Binghamton.
This is Blood's sixth reassignment to the B-Sens this season. The 23-year-old defenseman scored his first professional goal, and what proved to be the game winner, in the Jackals' 3-2 overtime victory over the Evansville IceMen last night.
Blood has appeared in four games with the B-Sens, recording no points.
