BRANDON, MB - Ryan Hofer's return to his home province could not have gone any better.

The Winnipeg, MB native netted his second career hat trick in a 6-3 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings Wednesday night in the Silvertips' first visit to Westoba Place in 1,475 days.

Hofer opened the scoring at 10:33 in the first period, powering past a Brandon defender and beating goaltender Carson Bjarnason with a forehand move in tight. Jackson Berezowski would give the Tips a 2-0 advantage at 15:45 in the frame, snapping a one-timer short side for his 11th of the season.

Oren Shtrom netted his first goal as a Silvertip at 1:55 in the second period, capitalizing off a slick feed from behind the endline from Roan Woodward.

Though Brandon would battle back with a pair of goals in the period from Zakhar Polshakov and Andrei Malyavin, Hofer restored the two-goal lead at 18:18 in the second, capping off a pass to the slot by Shtrom.

Nate Danielson brought the Wheat Kings back within one at 19:00 in the frame.

Hofer completed the hat trick at 3:33 in the third period while on a 5-on-3 advantage, redirecting an Olen Zellweger shot for his 10th goal of the season. Austin Roest tacked on an empty-netter in the final minute to complete the 6-3 victory.

Braden Holt stopped 25 of 28 for the win, his eighth of the year.

The Silvertips visit the Saskatoon Blades Friday night. Live coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. PT on KRKO Radio. Tickets for the Silvertips' return to Everett on Sunday, Nov. 13 against the Calgary Hitmen are available.
