The Americans will continue their East Division road trip tonight as they take on the Wheat Kings in Brandon.
The two teams last played each other on October 22, 2019 in Kennewick as the Americans fell 10-2 to the Wheat Kings. Marc Lajoie is the lone player on the current Americans roster that was in the lineup that night. Tri-City last visited Brandon on November 11, 2018 when the Americans earned a 3-2 shootout victory. Tri-City's last two victories against Brandon came in a shootout and overtime.
Both teams come in to tonight's game looking to get back in the win column. The Americans have lost their last three straight while the Wheat Kings are on a four-game losing streak. Despite challenges over the last few games, the Americans still boast the second best power play in the league at 28.8%. Brandon's power play is ranked 20th at 13.6%.
Tri-City most recently played on Wednesday in Saskatoon as they fell 5-1 to the Blades.
The Americans were down 4-0 in the third period when Lukas Dragicevic broke through and put Tri-City on the board. The 2023 NHL Draft prospect is on a career-high 8 game point streak with 2 goals and 8 assists over that period. Marc Lajoie and Camerin Cardona recorded assists the goal, Cardona's point is his first in the WHL. Nick Avakyan played the full game in net, stopping 14 of 19 shots faced. The Americans had a season low 12 shots on goal.
