AKRON, OH - Bowie center fielder L.J. Hoes belted a two-run triple in the fifth inning Tuesday night at Canal Park, snapping a 1-1 tie, and lifting the Baysox to a 4-2 victory over the Akron Aeros in the middle game of a three-game series.

Hoes, a former third-round pick and one of the top prospects in the Orioles organization, ripped the first pitch he saw from Aeros reliever Bryan Price into the left-center gap, chasing home two runs to make it 3-1, Bowie. Hoes, who was 2-4 on the night, later scored on a wild pitch.

Price was on in relief of Aeros starter T.J. McFarland (2-1), who left after allowing a double and a walk with two outs in the fifth, just ahead of Hoes' three-bagger. McFarland gave up three runs in 4 2/3 innings, walking two and striking out three.

Bowie starter Jacob Petit (2-0) was solid through six, scattering five hits and allowing just one run on a sacrifice fly by Adam Abraham in the fourth. After Rob Hinton worked two innings, Sean Gleason pitched the ninth for his first save.

Righthander Kyle Landis finished for Akron, going two scoreless frames, and extending his scoreless innings streak to nine.

Jared Goedert and Chun Chen each had two hits for the Aeros (7-4). Chen has five hits in the series.

The Aeros and Baysox (5-8) will conclude the series and homestand on Wednessday night at 7:05. Righthander Steven Wright (1-1, 1.59) will start for Akron against Bowie lefty Cole McCurry (0-1, 4.35). The game broadcast begins at 6:50 p.m. on Fox Sports 1350 AM and online at www.akronaeros.com. For more information, please call the Aeros at 330-253-5151.
