
Goins Has Three Hits in Fisher Cats 10-6 Loss to Mets

(Manchester, NH) - Ryan Goins had three hits and Mark Sobolewski and Brad Glenn hit home runs but the Fisher Cats dropped a 10-6 decision to Binghamton on Tuesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
Goins (3-for-5) had a single, double and triple in the game for New Hampshire (4-8). The triple came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Fisher Cats rallied with four runs.
The Mets (5-7) opened the scoring with two runs in the top of the first inning. Sean Kazmar walked and Oswaldo Navarro and Matt Den Dekker followed with back-to-back singles to make it 1-0. Eric Campbell grounded into a double play as Navarro scored to make it 2-0.
After Sobolewski's homer in the second inning off winning pitcher Collin McHugh made it 2-1, the Mets scored six times in the top of the third to put the game away. Eric Campbell (2-for-4) doubled home a run and Juan Lagares followed with a two-RBI single to make it 5-1. Juan Centeno doubled in a run and Rylan Sandoval tripled in two more to chase New Hampshire starter Chad Jenkins (1-2).
Binghamton extended the lead to 10-1 in the top of the fifth inning. Josh Rodriguez homered and Centeno doubled and scored on a single by Kazmar.
The Fisher Cats made it 10-5 in the bottom of the seventh inning on the Goins triple and a sacrifice fly by Brian Van Kirk. Glenn homered in the bottom of the ninth for New Hampshire's final run.
McHugh (2-1) worked five innings to pick up the win for the B-Mets. He allowed one run on four hits, walked two and struck out six.
